It was 2013 and I was feeling like the music industry was a flaming pile of shit. In walks the amazing Meg Myers with her EP “Daughter in the Choir” and I was instantly in love with everything about music again. Her music gave me hope, her music gave me strength, and most importantly – it gave me the itch to completely reconstruct one of her songs into the angry, pointed, industrial guitar laden track that I felt it should be. Lol.
I locked myself away in the studio for almost a month deconstructing and reconstructing the entire track and am proud of how each and every piece of it came together – all 19 tracks of it. From guitars to the dissonant piano loop – everything just seemed to fall into place – and by the time I laid the vocals down – I knew it would go on to be one of my favorite pieces I had ever put together on my lonesome.
