Years Active: 2017 // Genre: Alternative Rock

The last six months of 2016 was a period of rediscovery and self-reflection for me on many different levels. I went through some big changes involving my relationship and my career – and found myself in a place mentally that I had not been in a very long time. After some self-reflection and more importantly – time – I decided to do what I always had done in the past and turned to music to help me through it.

I wanted to write some new music, but just couldn’t find the words I needed to express my feelings at the time. Over the years, Third Eye Blind had been one of my favorite bands – and I had always felt that “The Background” spoke to me on many different levels. I started to write an all-electronic version – but somehow that didn’t feel right – so I borrowed some samples from the original recording and few covers I found on the internet, and linked them together with some creative editing in post-production.
